These guys know their stuff and they are completely enthusiastic about what they do! I loved the interactive nature of the course and the fact that each section is tested in a way that enhances what I know.

I have come back to IT Support after a career in software development and it is my opinion that the Technical Support Fundamentals covers the basics thoroughly and at a very professional level.

I recommend the course for those wishing to enter the world of IT Support.

This is my starting point to IT. This is where I want to begin my journey and I have done just that. Of course coming in I had a basic knowledge of computers and operating systems but this course goes in detail and gives you the tools and understanding you need in order to be successful in an entry level position. I am very happy to have google give me my starter tutorial and the information I received I will hold with me throughout my career. A very great experience.

Very easy to follow for beginners and well delivered. Through this course, I finally have a high-level and accurate understanding of how computers work internally (hardware, OS, software) and with each other (networking). I am pumped up for the subsequent courses in the Google IT Support Certification! Highly encourage anyone who wants to have a high-level understanding of how computers work to take this course, regardless if you are becoming an IT support specialist.

I really enjoyed the lessons. A lof of them felt like an overview of information I did not know but it was nice to refresh and to just go through it all to get a solid basis. Also, I was a combination of bored and curious so this was perfect for me to set out and do. You can finish it probably in a weekend or 3 days if you really wanted to.

That is only if you already know a fair amount. If you are a beginner I'd say 3-4 weeks honestly just to retain the information.

This was an excellent introduction to the world of IT. As the title suggests it teaches the fundamentals therefore it covers tons of topics in a short period of time, so be prepared to do deeper research on specific topics you are unaware of. The only thing I would say could improve is more hands on "labs" to reinforce what has been learned. Otherwise I would recommend this course to beginners and experts alike as a starting point or as reinforcement of key concepts.

It was pretty insightful given that I have been hands on with computers for over 25 years. I gained a better understanding of networking protocols and networking layers. Overall the experience was engaging. The GUI is easy to use and understand. The support was responsive. The video streaming had no issues. What can i say, I love the fact that I could power through the course without being confined to a specific timetable, this is very convenient . Thank You Coursera

I started Coursera because I need a career change, knew nothing about computers and decided to at least check it out and see if I like it. I learned a lot and found it way more exciting than I ever imagined. The setup is great, you really get the feeling that you’re learning together instead of being alone. I struggled w getting the virtual labs to connect and was able to go to the discussion forum for help. I’m excited to take the next courses and see what I learn.

It was an inciteful course that taught the very basics on computers up to a more here and now uses of them.

The course was very well put together; the technology used to present it well and never showed an error. I was astonished; it must have taken Coursera a long time to perfect this.

Living in Wyoming, everything is spread out; everything was closed for the COVID-19 pandemic, but Coursera was there to allow me t work towards a goal.

Thank You!!!

User friendly for someone like me who has zero experience with computers other than day to day interaction with my phone and personal computer. This has showed me where I stand, and the path I should follow to get to my destination. I appreciate being able to go at my own pace and learn my way instead of some institute telling me how I should do it. Thank you Google for the course and keeping it affordable too big plus for most people today just trying to get by.

I only used a computer to check email, look up places and to get directions. Wow! Haven't I been missing out.

The IT Fundamentals taught me about my computer and software I could use. The program was challenging to someone , like me, who has absolutely no computer knowledge.

Because of this course I can confidently proceed to the next course and I know Coursera will break it down enough that I can understand. I highly recommend Coursera! Ready? Get set. Go learn!

Really just a fabulous journey I've enjoyed immensely. An exceptionally well put together course and loved meeting all the different people and hearing them talk about their passion. I have to say the course is a bit slow on Android with a couple of hiccups but I've used a PC whenever I could so it's not a problem really. A complex subject has been broken down into bite-sized chunks and I thanks all of you for giving me this opening into a fascinating new world !

If you already have a strong I.T. or programming background, Tech Support Fundamentals will still take you approximately 6 hours while setting the playback speed to 1.5x or 2x most of the time. It's unwise to outright skip any video with embedded questions (denoted by a yellow mark on the video timeline). Don't expect the other 4 courses in the 5 course series to be this easy, they will undoubtedly become progressively harder as more complex topics are discussed.

This was an excellent introduction to the IT field. I thought I knew a few things about it before I started which made it intriguing but this course showed me there is still so much to learn. That being said, Coursera makes it super easy to follow and understand. The break it down into logical and simple terms but keep it interesting and motivating. They test your knowledge and challenge your critical thinking along the way, which huge in building confidence!

This course felt like more of an encouragement course. You learned the very basics of IT. Things I believe that most people already know. There were a lot of things, however, that were completely new. But the thing I took away from it most was the encouraging messages and the different backgrounds that everyone that taught the course had. The overall message in this course is "You can do it" and having that keeps you motivated and excited to move forward.

The course was fantastic. I worked with my schedule great, and I am looking forward to taking many more courses to add to my resume. I was able to actually complete the course well ahead of schedule because the instructors were great and the exams completely lined up with the training I received. I would recommend this program to anyone who is looking to getting started in 'IT'. Great job Google. You really understand what is needed to be successful in 'IT'.

This is basically why I don't like star-based review systems — it's entirely arbitrary and each person will have their own opinions as to whether 3 out of 5 would be good or bad or in between.

In baseball, going 3 for 5 at the plate is an excellent night. At school, getting 3 out of 5 on a quiz is a D-.

Anyway, I would typically see 3 out of 5 in the context of a movie review as average. For something like a smartphone review, that would probably be pretty "meh".

I enjoyed taking this course, the instructor videos were informative and the instructors themselves knew their material and taught it well. I liked the flexibility of the schedule and the interactive lessons and labs. If I had to say anything negative about the course it would be the spelling and grammar of the transcription of the videos, those were not proof read well. I definitely enjoyed learning this way and will take more courses like this in the future.

This course has been so resourceful, I feel like I learned a lot already that I did not know or understand. But mostly I have to say the way the course is presented is also very impressive and beginner friendly, It keeps the learner engaged and wanting to understand more. I found it 100% useful from the first lesson I started, I also liked that there were real scenarios presented, so thank you for all the work and time put into making this foundation course.

It was a great course most of the lesson were very straight forward which made it a great and swift learning experince. Although I wish we would've had more lessons for Binary and the commands prompts used for operating systems. Those were extremely difficult for me to learn and took a lot of outside research to understand exactly how these work and how to properly use them. Despite that I really enjoyed this course and will be continuing to the next segment.

This is a really solid introduction to computing and IT. It took the first several weeks of college to cover the same subject matter, but I was in lectures or labs 35 hours a week and had to commute. This course covered the same material in a much more convenient and cost effective way. I even learned some things which never came up in college. Overall I would suggest anybody trying to learn a bit more about the basics of computing should take this course.

this course is best course ever, which I've seen till now, I'm a visually impaired person, but for me, this course was 99.9% accessible. I was not feeling that I’m a visually impaired person and attending this course. the in virement was like this course was only designed for visually impaired people, especially. I want to thank google 1st, then tribute to coursera, and special thanks to our university, who provided us this opportunity to dive in this world.

I would rate the course quite well. Very valuable knowledge offered In this course. I do have a little concern about some of the editing In the videos that were made to correct what the individuals in some of the videos. As well as some faulty questions (the wording) being asked In the networking part of the course. however I do believe the other courses are probably error free. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to refresh myself In the field of IT! :)
